Janelle
Janelle's passion for yoga emerged 13 years ago when she began attending community yoga groups. She discovered these groups served as a great source of meditation and relaxation, counterbalancing the competitive stress from her life as a national volleyball player.
Over the years Janelle's dedication to yoga has remained unwavering and she has made great efforts to find ways to evolve her practice on physical, mental, and spiritual levels. Initially her schooling in psychology inspired her to explore yoga at a deeper personal level. Soon, however, yoga graduated to a full time interest and career path for Janelle. During the past decade she has accomplished many hours of class work and has attended numerous workshops, intensives, and teacher trainings.
Janelle has diversified her knowledge and practice through her studies of Baptiste Yoga, Hot Yoga, Moksha Yoga, Kids Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation. She is currently studying to be an Anusara Inspired Certified Teacher.
On top of her daily practice, Janelle has attended various monthly workshops in Vancouver from 1999-2004. More recently, she has completed Baron Baptiste's teacher training in 2006 followed by Baron Baptiste's intensive teacher training in August 2008.
Today, Janelle enthusiastically continues her study of yoga by reading the extensive literature available on the subject, examples of which include: John Friends' Teacher Training manuals, Baron Baptist Teacher Training Theory, Ancient Yogic Texts, Alignment, and the Anatomy of Hatha Yoga .She also travels several times yearly to various Yoga Conferences in North America. Janelle is inspired to become a full time Anusara Vinyasa teacher and an assistant to Baron Baptiste.
Janelle has been teaching Yoga for three years. She has taught Vinyasa, Power Vinyasa , Yin, and Anusara Inspired yoga to practitioners of all levels, from beginner to advanced. For Janelle, yoga is not only a career, but also a way of the discovery of Life, Love and the Pursuit of Happiness...
Iliana Bonilla
Iliana started her Yoga journey more than ten years ago. She had the privilege to learn from spiritual teachers such as Gloria Latham in Vancouver BC where she became certified as a Yoga Teacher, and was introduced to Kundalini Yoga. In Mexico, Iliana continued her Yoga path learning Sat Nam Rasayan (healing through conscience) from Guru Dev Singh Khalsa; this last one opened the door to Yoga for Y.O.U.T.H that gave her the opportunity to teach her passion to young women inside a detention center in Mexico City.
Chantelle Cooper
Chantelle has been practicing yoga for six years, and has noticed a remarkable change in her quality of life - increased energy, vitality and physical health along with contentment, patience, and peace of mind. Yoga is about finding equilibrium, a balance of strength and flexibility in our bodies, our breath, and our minds. As we practice yoga regularly, cultivating awareness of body and breath, we can begin to explore the link between them as a gateway to experiencing our own life-force, the energetic system of prana, the energy that animates all living things. Awakening this natural healing energy reminds the body to heal, the mind to calm, and the spirit to honor its own inner wisdom. She is so excited for the opportunity to share an experience of yoga with her students on Grand Cayman.
Chantelle completed her 500 Hour Professional Level Yoga Teacher Training at the world renowned Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Massachusetts. There she was lucky enough to train with several experienced faculty members, studying all aspects of yoga from anatomy and physiology to philosophy and meditation. Teaching in the Kripalu style, students are encouraged to find their own unique expression of yoga that best helps to fulfill their individual goals of physical fitness and mental clarity. Chantelle guides students through creative posture flows where the breath is linked with movement - a mediation in motion.
Tricia
Tricia's passion for yoga was ignited 11 years ago on the day she first stepped onto a yoga mat and attended her first class. In the years that have followed, her love and appreciation of yoga have only intensified as she has both experienced and witnessed the positive and life altering physical, mental, and spiritual power and potential yoga possesses.
Tricia is a native of Alberta Canada who has been living and working in Grand Cayman for the past 10 years. She has noticed that in Canada, in contrast to Grand Cayman, yoga studios are abundant and classes numerous. As she has networked throughout the budding yoga community on the island it has become clear that the scarcity of facilities there is not a reflection of lack of need or interest. And led to opening Bliss living and Yoga with her business partner Janelle for the Cayman Yoga Kula!
Tricia has 19 years of experience as an aesthetician in spas and medical spas. She has grown up around the beauty and wellness industry and feels it is in her blood. Recently she has become particularly interested in the anti-aging realm of beauty and health. Tricia is also a new mom who has a newfound passion and ambition to introduce excellent prenatal, moms and babies, and children's yoga programs in Grand Cayman. Trisha is also the founder of Bliss Living, a pioneer company that has been successfully filling the need on the island for high quality, high style yoga and active lifestyle clothing for the past three years.
Tricia now plans to incorporate her love of personal and community improvement, and knowledge of the retail industry to the benefit of both her new yoga studio, and as many of the residents of Grand Cayman as possible.
Mark
Mark first attended a yoga class in 1996 to attend to the various aches, pains and inflexibility brought on by training and participating in triathlons. Being fortunate to have some great teachers early on mark has become immersed in the truly wonderful and life changing process that is the practice of yoga.
Mark's teachers have included Marni Task, Jennie Harris, Baron Baptiste, Jamie Allison, Claire Este-McDonald, Gregor Singleton, Manju Jois and David Belz. He has attended Baptiste Teacher Training and Baptiste Assistant Training.
Along this journey, which never ends, Mark has discovered a totally unexpected benefit in the wonderful people he has met along the way. The energy, support and friendship, which he has experienced, have been a revelation in and of itself. In the end we are all students in this journey and each day promises something new, something to keep and something to share. Mark currently resides in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.
Namaste.
